It has a high productivity, has a flexible temper, the content does not cause problems - and this is only a small fraction of the merits of the species.

How did the breed appear?

The Agidel duck appeared not by natural means, but by the method of crossing hybrids. Three types were selected for selection: super M, deceitful and Indian runners. As a result of long work, three cross lines were obtained:

Characteristics of Agidel ducks

  • parent form A45;
  • A3 and A4 (based on super M);
  • A5 (based on super M and Indian runner).

Two hybrids, the Agidel 34 and the Agidel 345, were received from the first line. Both species have white plumage and high productive characteristics, which, among other things, are hereditarily fixed.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of the breed?

Different breed Agidel increased egg production, excellent meat qualities and other advantages. So, what can be obtained by breeding, and what qualities does the duck Agidel have?

  • For the year with one layer, you can get 240 eggs or a little less. Each weighing 85-100 g.
  • An adult male can weigh 3.7-3.9 kg, the female is within 3.5 kg. Due to the fact that the breed is early ripening, the weight of the drake in 1.5 months reaches 3 kg and more, the ducks - 2.8 kg. At the age of 2 months the bird is allowed to slaughter. This is the optimal time to get a lot of tender meat and presentation of the carcass.
  • Breed meat has an excellent, delicate taste, belongs to the diet, is valued for its nourishing, healthy composition.
  • Feather and down are also highly valued. They can be sold or used on the premises.

The advantages also include immunity to many typical diseases of birds. For example, duck resistance to leukemia is three times higher than that of other breeds.

The disadvantages of a hybrid, only two, in any case, significant.

  • The meat is quite fatty, like any other broiler bird.
  • Females do not differ maternal instinct. They will not incubate eggs, and they will not look at the offspring, therefore reproduction is possible only in an incubator.

For keeping the Agidel ducks, a poultry house, walking and proper feeding are necessary. About the house will be discussed below that before walking, then, as a rule, this is a large, spacious place enclosed by a net with a rabbi or any other material. The fence should not be very high, but sufficient so that a frightened bird (after all, anything can happen) does not fly over it.

Inside, some useful green crops are planted on the ground that a bird can pluck. At the half of the walking area, a carport is equipped. This should be anything, but not a tree, as ducks need not only shade, but also protection from rain and hail.

Content ducks agidel

Breed Agidel can easily do without a reservoir, but it is recommended to make it all the same. Water treatments have a positive effect on meat quality, egg production, and poultry health. Pond can be natural or artificial. Any large vessel buried in the ground and filled with water will be the greatest joy for birds, and you can also throw fresh duckweed into the tank. The water in the "pond" is changed daily or even several times a day, because when it is in the sun, it heats up quickly, and the birds need cool water.

On the "water treatment" ducks are best allowed in the morning. The trough is installed outside the aviary, they are released there, they swim, and then they enter the aviary and walk the rest of the day. This scheme allows the feathers to dry completely before the ducks enter the house. If you put the bathhouse in an open-air cage, then in a couple of days it will be very damp in the duck, which will lead to the formation of fungus.

Feeding the ducks is not expensive. During the warm period, the bird is released outside, where it eats pasture throughout the day. In the morning and in the evening, birds feed in the poultry house. In the diet, in addition to greens, cereals and vegetables must be present. The first interfere and are given in the morning, the second in the form of mash - in the evening. In winter, they are fed 2-3 times a day. If the duck Agidel begins to nest or incubates - 4 times. At the same time, additional vitamin and mineral supplements are introduced into the feed.

It is important to note that any inexpensive compound feed or cereal mixtures that are sold in stores will be suitable for feeding. Vegetables for mash can be rubbed or cut into thin strips, since thick cubes will be difficult for a bird to grab or eat.

How to equip the house?

The type of house can be chosen any convenient. There are plenty of ideas on the Internet about how to make a high and low utyatnik, where the birds will be comfortable and the breeder will be easy to clean. There are several requirements for visiting characteristics.

Wood duck with walking cap

  1. The dimensions of the house are calculated in advance before it is built. 2-3 square meters are considered per square meter.
  2. Drafts should not be. All the cracks are sealed, the windows are arranged in such a way that when opening them there is no draft, otherwise the birds will fall ill.
  3. Ventilation should be at least the most primitive, as well as lighting. It can be large, small windows and power supply. All wires during installation work are allowed so that the bird does not get to them, as well as bad weather (rain, wind, snow).
  4. The ceiling should not leak - dryness is maintained indoors regardless of whether it is raining or not.
  5. Laying on the floor spreads from straw or sawdust. At the same time, in winter the layer is made larger than in summer. It is also recommended to raise the floor above the ground to provide thermal protection from the icy ground in winter. But this is possible only if it is made of wood.
  6. Inside are removable feeders, drinkers, a basin with sand or ash to clean the feathers.
  7. Opposite the feeders put roomy nests. It is possible for these purposes to use wooden boxes or stable baskets in which ducks of the Agidel breed will incubate future offspring.

The house is cleaned once a month, and the feeders and drinkers are cleaned every day during feeding. Disinfection is recommended to be carried out once in 3 months, but if it is clean in the facility, it is also possible every six months.
